Investigar o impacto do COVID-19 em indivíduos e comunidades africanos / negros, profissionais de saúde da linha de frente e trabalhadores de serviços essenciais e outras barreiras sistêmicas para prevenção, tratamento e gestão eficazes de COVID-19 na população africana / negra.
Identificar
Identificar estratégias de intervenção para responder eficazmente ao impacto do COVID-19 em indivíduos africanos / negros, comunidades, trabalhadores de serviços de saúde da linha de frente e trabalhadores de serviços essenciais no Canadá e no mundo or em outros países.
Criar
Criar oportunidades de tradução e troca de conhecimento para melhorar as respostas governamentais, institucionais, comunitárias e individuais ao impacto do COVID-19 em indivíduos Africanos / negros, comunidades, todos aqueles que trabalham na frente da linha, profissionais de saúde e trabalhadores de serviços essenciais no Canadá e em outros países.
Apoiar
Apoiar a participação e responsabilidade da comunidade por meio da criação de comitês consultivos em nível nacional e em outros países.
Conhecer a equipe
Nossa equipe de pesquisa interdisciplinar é composta por pesquisadores experientes e emergentes nas áreas de promoção da saúde, educação, estudos sobre deficiência, política e administração de saúde, sociologia, ciências políticas, psicologia, serviço social, direito, história, administração de empresas, metodologias de pesquisa quantitativa / qualitativa, estudos sobre mulheres e gênero, medicina e saúde comunitária, entre outros.
Dra. Roberta Timothy
Investigadora Principal
Dra. Roberta Timothy é professora assistente na linha de ensino da Escola de Saúde Pública Dalla Lana da Universidade de Toronto. Ela tem mais de 30 anos de experiência trabalhando em saúde comunitária. Ela traz uma estrutura racial crítica e interseccional para sua pesquisa. A Dra. Timothy está intrinsecamente ligada às comunidades negras transnacionais (globais), pois prioriza uma estrutura de saúde feminista Pan-Africana crítica em todas as suas pesquisas, ensino e esforços comunitários. A educação de resistência, uma metodologia criativa desenvolvida e praticada pela Dra. Timothy, garante que todas as suas pesquisas sejam conduzidas por e para comunidades negras a partir de uma estrutura emancipatória centrada no empoderamento. No contexto da pandemia do COVID-19, a Dra. Timothy co-organizou recentemente o primeiro fórum em todo o Canadá discutindo o impacto do COVID-19 nas comunidades Africanas / negras no Canadá. Suas percepções em relação à necessidade de pesquisas e programas do COVID-19 com comunidades Africanas / negras no Canadá e globalmente foram transmitidas em todo o Canadá pela TV e em jornais. Dr. Pascal Djiadeu
Pascal Djiadeu is the research analyst and methodologist consultant of the BHMCV19 project at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. He is also a part-time assistant professor at McMaster University, in the department of health research methods evidence and impact, and a lecturer at Humber College/University of Guelph Humber where he teaches Applied Epidemiology in the BHScW program in the faculty of health sciences and wellness. His research focuses on HIV implementation sciences, research methodologies and, health inequities and disparities.
